It has been quite a while since I last did a major workshop and expedition update. As a result of COVID and the ongoing (seemingly never ending) pandemic, the last eighteen months has pretty much been a complete write off for me in terms of travel and photography. Financially this has presented some serious challenges and has necessitated some careful financial juggling, but thankfully, travel restrictions are finally starting to ease in some parts of the world and it is now possible to start running some of the remaining 2021 workshops and gear up for those that are scheduled to follow next year.
FINLAND WOLVES AND WOLVERINES – This October I will be heading to Finland to lead my sold out workshop for Wolves and Wolverines in no-mans land between Finland and Russia. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be returning to Finland and the opportunity to spend time in the stunning Autumnal forests with wild wolves and wolverines. I am a little unsure of exactly how long I will stay in Finland as much depends on the travel restrictions and quarantine measures back in Australia. Although I am fully vaccinated with Pfizer, the Australian government has not yet relaxed its 2-week mandatory hotel quarantine (and at present isn’t likely too) and I am keen to avoid this if it all possible. As such I may just stay in Finland until such time as this restriction eases for those of us who have been vaccinated.

SNOW LEOPARD AND PALLAS CAT – In December, should travel restrictions permit, I am returning to Mongolia for back-to-back expeditions to find and photograph both Snow Leopard and Pallas Cat. I was last in Mongolia in November of 2019 and am very excited to return to this amazing country. At present it is not possible to travel to Mongolia because of travel restrictions, but I am hopeful things will start to ease in the next few months. Both these expeditions are long sold out. If you are interested to know more about photography in Mongolia be sure to check out my extensive trip report with video.

From Mongolia I will return to Australia just in time for Christmas before launching into my 2022 schedule with a Snowy Owl workshop very early January. I will do a seperate blog post on my 2022 schedule as we get closer to the end of 2021. In the meantime, if you are keen to join me next year for some photography you can get a complete list of workshops and expeditions on my website HERE.
